Maison du Guit's 2020 Creative Courses

HERE ARE OUR EXCITING COURSES FOR 2020!

A Happy New Year to all our friends, former guests and all those who have expressed interest in our holiday courses at Maison du Guit. As we write this in gloomy January it seems a good time to let you know what we have coming up in the summer, in sunny south west France.

This year we are again hosting two exciting painting courses, so we are absolutely delighted to be welcoming back our hugely talented and engaging tutors, Caroline Bays and Antony Williams. Caroline's course in July will be focusing on still life and landscape, in oils and acrylics. Portrait artist Antony will be running his course in the last week of August. This year Antony will be working with a model for three days thus allowing more time for painting the stunning countryside around us. (To avoid the most expensive air fares Antony's course begins and ends  on a Monday - August 24th to August 31st. The other courses all run from Saturday to Saturday, as usual.)

Last year everyone enjoyed having a rest day in the middle of each week and we have been encouraged to repeat this plan on all our courses. We will organise some local excursions for those who wish to get out and about. One of our trips last summer was to the historic Pyrenean city of Pau, where we visited beautiful art galleries, boutiques and cafes.

In 2019 we ran our first pilates week, with Stott Pilates specialist Leanda Hughes. Leanda arrived with her new husband, Mac, who was a great addition; their dog and cat were also warmly welcomed! All four happily took up residence in the gite and were relatively undisturbed by our three inquisitive dogs. Since this was our first pilates course we had fewer guests than usual, but nonetheless the week was a resounding success - so much so that all those who came are returning for another week this year - some are even bringing their husbands with them! Leanda's course runs in early July and we are really looking forward to seeing everyone again and welcoming some new faces.  Laughter is always a great way to kick off the summer and we are particularly pleased that we can begin next season with the return of comedy guru, Logan Murray. We are never quite sure what is going to happen when Logan runs his hugely popular comedy writing course, but laughter is guaranteed so we are sure this year's course in June will be no exception.

Details of all our courses can be found on our website www.maisonduguit.com but do please contact either of us to find out more, or just to have a chat, it is always good to hear from our guests both former and future.
